Bassetlaw Triathlon Club is very proud to be able to host this event. It has proved popular with both novice and more experienced athletes. Triathlon is suitable and accessible for all levels, abilities, shapes and sizes. The club is keen to encourage more people to take up the sport and we hope by competing in this novice friendly sprint race you will get the bug and want to become more involved. The event can be entered as an individual or in a team. Why not join our training sessions to help you prepare.

The event starts with a 400m swim in the 25m pool (16 lengths). Competitors are set off in waves the first of which will start at 8am. Your start time will be determined by the swim time entered on your entry form. For everyone’s enjoyment Please be as accurate as possible.

The 21k route takes place on a mix of town and country roads. It will be well signed and marshalled for your safety and direction. There are a number of traffic managed junctions to give you priority at right turns and the Cannon crossroads.

The 2 lap 5k run keeps along the footpaths in the vicinity of the centre and finishes on the field giving plenty of opportunities for your supporters to cheer you across the line.

Race facilities

Hosted by Worksop Leisure Centre there is parking, full changing facilities including showers and a viewing area for spectators. Sunshine Coffee and Bakes will be on site for all your catering needs and Apple Gym will be providing pre and post race massage.

Get Involved – The event cannot run without the help and support of an army of willing volunteers. If you are racing and have family and friends spectating why not have them contribute to the day for themselves. All volunteers are provided with food and drink to make sure that they are fully energized for the day ahead. It’s not only athletes who need the energy.

Roles at the race are varied and include working in the following areas:

  • Drink Station
  • Bike Course
  • Run Course
  • Transition
  • Competitor registration
  • Finish
  • Course pack-up crew

Alternatively, why not just come and join the team and meet some new friends, get involved and offer your services for a few hours.

To register your details or for more information contact us via the contact us page. We really look forward to hearing from you, and thanks for helping to ensure the safety of competitors and success of the event!
