Blessed with excellent sunny weather, 6 teams of Bassetlaw Triathlon set out for a day of fun and chaos at Holme Pierrepont the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham
Five teams raced in the morning and 1 team Bassetlaw One Young Gun started at 1:45 in the afternoon.
The main aim was for groups of four people to complete a Sprint Triathlon.
Each member of the team individually swimming 500metres, before tagging their team mate, and so on, until all four people have completed the swim and the last swimmer tags the first team member to start the 15km bike ride. The bike route was 3 laps around the lake, flat and fast. Each athlete individually completes the 15km until the last team member then tags the first one to start the 5km run section just 1 lap around the lake.
The day was so much fun that we already talking about entering even more teams next year. You can imagen the chaos when over 100 teams join together, shouting out for their team mates to pass on the wristband. Lots of waving arms, pushing and jumping up and down.
